After a loooooong hiatus on the blog, we’re finally back! We’ve been SOOO busy creating beautiful portraiture for families since our last post in July, we got too busy to blog! So we’re hiring additional help so that we can manage it all. 🙂 The next few posts are going to let you in on all the new things going on at Olivia Grey Pritchard Photography! First off, you’ll see a new look to our site, blog, and marketing materials. We hired the amazing Katie Loerts of Katie Loerts Design to create a new interpretation of our brand. The most important thing I wanted the new design to convey were our standards of simple and timeless beauty and our commitment to excellence. I think Katie’s design beautifully illustrates these principles!
The new logo was just one part of the many new things we are doing at the studio to refine both our craft and the way we do business. We are committed to providing our clients with the highest quality images, experience and products, and we will continue to invest in every area to provide that. This year, we have invested in enlarging our studio space, a new continuous lighting system for the studio that newborns and babies prefer to strobe (flash) lighting, our new brand look, remodeling our studio viewing space, and an amazing private mentoring class with the world-renowned Julia Kelleher of Jewel Images. I traveled to Oregon to spend several inspiring days with Julia and some model newborns in Julia’s lovely studio so that I could bring back such timeless, beautiful studio newborn portraiture to the heart of New Orleans. More on that later! For now, please enjoy our new look and new logo!

twins leo and isabella are 4 months old! {New Orleans twins photographer}
I cannot get over how much these twins have changed since their newborn session 4 months ago…they are still the most BEAUTIFUL babies, with the creamiest skin and head-fulls of dark hair! Isabella is still petite, and Leo is gonna be a big guy, I think. I seriously did not want to give them back to their mama and nanny after the session. I just wanted to hold them all day!!!

Little Eli is such a sweet little guy, and I’ve been photographing him since he was in his mama’s belly. He’s so expressive, and has been since he was a newborn! His mama is one of my favorite people in the world to sit and chat with, I wish we didn’t both work so much! 🙂

Big sister Lea was turning two, and baby sister Penelope was nearly on her way into the world for this session! It was a beautiful session with one of my favorite families, and this time they had a second pup to add to the mix. Lea was one of my very first Baby’s First Year babies when I opened my studio just before she was born — she was a tiny newborn and is still the most adorably petite little girl! I hope she never grows too big. 🙂 Look for newborn Penelope on the blog soon!
newborn clementine… {New Orleans newborn photographer}
Sweet, petite Clementine had a beautiful newborn session, complete with grandparents and aunt! Whenever family is present, I always like to ask if they’d like to take a picture with baby. I think it’s so important to include family whenever possible, and I LOVE multi-generational photographs. I used to spend hours as a child going through old family photo albums, and I think that’s part of the reason I opened my studio — to create such treasured items for other families. Little Clementine has a family full of love, and I know she will treasure these photographs when she’s grown, especially the ones with her Grandpa and her aunt, because I think from watching them with her that she’ll have a very special relationship with both of them. So sweet!
Nursing Mini-Sessions!!!
Last year’s Nursing Mini-Sessions were such a hit, we’re making them an annual affair! If you have a breastfeeding little one and you’d like some tender and beautiful images of this bonding time between you and your baby, have a look at the details below and give us a call to book!
What: Nursing Mini-Sessions
Who: you and your nursing little one
When: Saturday, August 9th at 4:00, 4:30, 5:00, 5:30, 6:00 and 6:30
Where: City Park, where we’ll have three different set-ups to choose from and you can nurse in the most comfortable and natural position for you and your little one
What to wear: solid colors (and obviously, a top that’s easy to nurse in!)
The mini-session fee of $250 includes a $200 credit towards a wall print or gift print package, a 25-minute mini-session, a pre-session phone consultation, and an in-studio ordering appointment within 2 weeks of your mini-session!

Mr. Clayton was a chunky guy already, such big cheeks on a newborn babe! I love a chubby, squishy newborn. He was such a good baby, just taking a couple of nursing breaks and otherwise sleeping almost the entire session. He has beautiful lips and lashes, and I think he looks like both his mama and his daddy. He’s such a handsome little guy! I loved spending my afternoon with him and his sister-pup, who still isn’t quite sure what to make of him… 🙂

Baby Easton is the HAPPIEST, most CHARMING, GIGGLIEST baby on the block. Seriously, nothing gets this kid down. Hannah and I LOVE seeing him at the studio. There’s nothing better for the soul than a happy baby! He laughs, and plays, and dances around (well, as well as he can while sitting up) while singing to himself. It’s hilarious! He has the most beautiful chubby cheeks, huge gorgeous eyes, and he’s kept his perfect little rosebud mouth that he’s had since the day he was born, which I also photographed. I’ve seen him now 4 times, and I cannot believe he’s 8 months old. Time flies!!!

This sweet little beauty was born on my birthday, and I was lucky enough to be able to photograph her birth! I’m sure you remember her lovely mama’s maternity session below on the blog…as you can see, motherhood suits this mama very well, and Daddy is absolutely smitten with his little daughter. I was excited for this newborn session because I have loved photographing this little family on their journey from becoming a couple to a trio. Those fat cheeks, that perfect little rosebud mouth, and those huge eyes…baby Mimsy looks exactly like her mama with her daddy’s coloring. And she was born on the best day of the year, so now I have a new Birthday Buddy! 😉
sareena + zaina turn one!!! {New Orleans twins photographer}
Beautiful Sareena and Zaina, twins born a year ago on my birthday, are one year old! They had a lovely party, complete with the Easter Bunny and an Egg Hunt, with all their little friends over to play in April. Big sister Ava was a big help in getting things ready, and the decorations (and food!) were to die for. Family was visiting from all over the world, which made things even more special. Happy Birthday, beautiful Sareena and Zaina!

This was a fantastic session — beautiful setting, beautiful light, and THE MOST COOPERATIVE TWO-YEAR-OLD on the planet. For real. The sweetest little guy who lasted for over an hour of pictures. I was amazed! Little Gentry is now one of my faves, and I adore the image of his silhouette with his fat cheeks and little Buddha belly hanging over his waistband. These are also some of my most favorite family portraits ever! I love this sweet family, and handsome little charmer!

Little Otis has beautiful fair skin, dark blue eyes, and nearly black hair — just the most beautiful Welsh-looking coloring! He’s super sweet and chill, but already moving around at only seven months old! He loves wooden spoons, his ladybug toy, and books. His mama brought the book “Otis” for him to read in some pictures, and the book that she and Dad read to him every night. I loved photographing this sweet little guy!

Little Mickey recently came to see me with Mom and Dad in tow for his one year session! He still has the fairest skin, bluest eyes, and blondest hair ever. 🙂 Apparently the ONLY time he makes that funny, pouty face below is at his sessions with me — his parents literally call it his “Olivia face”! We have one from literally every. single. session. in his First Year package. He is a sweet little guy, and I cannot believe he’s a year old already!!

Baby Easton is SUPER SUPER expressive, and so funny! He’s a happy boy, with gorgeous eyes and chubby cheeks, and I LOVE seeing him. I love when he scrunches up his nose, or looks at me with his eyes wide open…he’s so sweet. And he’s an AWESOME cuddler. I wuv him!

Sweet little William comes from Baton Rouge for his sessions with me, and I’m so happy he does, because LOOK at him!!! He is so funny and expressive. He’s usually pretty pensive at first, and just hangs out for a few minutes, taking it all in. Then he warms up and we all end up in stitches watching him! He dances, makes the funniest surprised face I’ve ever seen on a 1 year old, and keeps a sharp eye out for cars and planes. Such a boy. I love him and his awesome parents!

Preston was a big boy already at his newborn session at two weeks old! He and his brother both have heads’ full of gorgeous hair and beautiful dark eyes. Preston was super-hungry, wanting to eat every hour or so, but then his little tummy was hurting so it was quite awhile before he calmed down enough to sleep through the posed shots. But no worries, we waited him out! I took some photographs of big brother Gracen while Mama was walking around soothing the baby. And I love the pictures of the boys together, especially the one where it looks like Preston is talking to his big brother!

Miss Vivian is SOOOOOOOOO expressive, am I right? She’s a very petite little girl with huge, dark blue eyes. She loved laying on my fluffy fur, grabbing it with her little fists, all the while kicking her little legs! She was in such a good mood that day, babbling up a storm and squealing with laughter when we sang to her. A happy baby is tonic to the soul!!! I love this age! 🙂

Little Charley is a HOOT. He’s such a happy baby, and very laid back. We usually don’t recommend bringing older babies and kiddos to ordering appointments because it’s difficult for parents to concentrate, but Charley is so chill he just sat and laughed at his images as they flashed across my projection screen! Really, he’s such a good little guy. And he’s a good snuggler, he sat with me and I just got to cuddle him while he leaned against me and played with my keys — it was the best part of my day! And BONUS: check out them thighs!!!!! 🙂

Sweet Keiran is such a gorgeous little guy. It was FREEZING that day, like in the 30s. But this guy was only in town from Chicago with his mama that day, and so we bundled up and crossed our fingers! And…it’s one of my favorite one-year-old sessions ever. The light was beautiful, this park was a perfect location, and we got some absolutely gorgeous images. Thank you for always letting me take pictures when you come to town, guys! I truly love seeing you. 🙂
baby nolan at 5 weeks old…{New Orleans newborn photographer}
Little Nolan was a little older than most of my newborns, but he was super sweet and we got some beautiful images of him along with him with his mama. He was bright-eyed and bushy-tailed that afternoon (as 5-week-olds often are!), just holding his head up with confidence, kicking those legs, and starting to be a baby rather than a newborn. I love his lips and the little faces he made for me, expressive even at 5 weeks!

Miss Jane is already 4 months old, and looking SO MUCH like her beautiful big brother. Jane’s got fatter cheeks, though. 🙂 She is a super-sweet, laid-back baby, but my favorite thing about her is that she SNORES. Seriously, like my pug. Both times we’ve done ordering appointments she’s been snoozing away in her car seat, oblivious both to the world and to my videotaping her snoring while her mom and I laughed as quietly as we possibly could. Love her!!!

Isn’t Miss Eleanor the most beautiful little newborn? With the most perfect lips and most expressive eyebrows? (Though look at her mother and it’s no surprise!) Little Eleanor was born on Halloween (I know, we’re super behind on the blog — but we didn’t want to spoil the Christmas card and announcements by posting this before family and friends got their cards!) and her mommy had the cutest little pumpkin hat for her. Eleanor is really hilarious — her eyebrows and pursed lips cracked us up for the entire session. She was super alert and it took her awhile to go to sleep, but she finally did and so we got posed, sleepy shots as well as images with her mommy and daddy. I still, three months after we took these, just can’t get over how gorgeous she is!

Miss Ava is 4 months old, and she is just as expressive as her big sister Isabella was at this age! They look so much alike, and this is part of the reason I love photographing families as they grow. Ava is super chill, such a good baby — and I think you’ll agree that her expressions are HILARIOUS. I mean, truly hysterical! I adore her, though how could I not? 🙂

I love Calvin and Hobbes (who doesn’t?), and since little Rhys here looks so much like Calvin to me, today I had to use this little-boy-quote from the comic strip. Isn’t it so spot on? Is there a parent in the universe who doesn’t feel like their kid was saying this EXACT thing in his head at some point as he banged away at something (while they were praying the noise would stop)? 😉
