After a loooooong hiatus on the blog, we’re finally back! We’ve been SOOO busy creating beautiful portraiture for families since our last post in July, we got too busy to blog! So we’re hiring additional help so that we can manage it all. 🙂 The next few posts are going to let you in on all the new things going on at Olivia Grey Pritchard Photography! First off, you’ll see a new look to our site, blog, and marketing materials. We hired the amazing Katie Loerts of Katie Loerts Design to create a new interpretation of our brand. The most important thing I wanted the new design to convey were our standards of simple and timeless beauty and our commitment to excellence. I think Katie’s design beautifully illustrates these principles!
The new logo was just one part of the many new things we are doing at the studio to refine both our craft and the way we do business. We are committed to providing our clients with the highest quality images, experience and products, and we will continue to invest in every area to provide that. This year, we have invested in enlarging our studio space, a new continuous lighting system for the studio that newborns and babies prefer to strobe (flash) lighting, our new brand look, remodeling our studio viewing space, and an amazing private mentoring class with the world-renowned Julia Kelleher of Jewel Images. I traveled to Oregon to spend several inspiring days with Julia and some model newborns in Julia’s lovely studio so that I could bring back such timeless, beautiful studio newborn portraiture to the heart of New Orleans. More on that later! For now, please enjoy our new look and new logo!

Sweet little William comes from Baton Rouge for his sessions with me, and I’m so happy he does, because LOOK at him!!! He is so funny and expressive. He’s usually pretty pensive at first, and just hangs out for a few minutes, taking it all in. Then he warms up and we all end up in stitches watching him! He dances, makes the funniest surprised face I’ve ever seen on a 1 year old, and keeps a sharp eye out for cars and planes. Such a boy. I love him and his awesome parents!
Did you miss our October family mini-sessions for holiday cards and gifts? Do you just LOVE this photo and want one of your own kiddo(s)? Well, for the first time, we’re offering Christmas Tree Mini-Sessions by Olivia Grey Pritchard Photography! Your home, your tree, your child…your traditions. Doesn’t that deserve to be photographed? 🙂
Christmas Tree Mini-Sessions include up to 2 children (you can do a full session if you’ve got more than 2 kiddos), a 20-minute mini-session in your home at dusk, and one 8×10 gift print. These mini-sessions are $140, and you will have the option to purchase other prints and to use one picture on a pre-designed holiday card if you wish. We’ll only be doing 7 of these mini-sessions between December 2nd and 11th (and one is already booked), so let us know if you’d like to reserve yours!
I got to spend the morning building spaceships out of cardboard boxes with these guys — and as a HUGE fan of playing with plain boxes and building WORLDS out of them with some markers, duct tape and, most importantly, imagination, I was pumped to photograph them!!! Big brother Daniel and little Dylan played so well together, occasionally working together and occasionally breaking off to do their own things. I thought it was great to have such a laid-back, lazy-summer-morning session with the boys keeping themselves occupied with only their own imaginations. They’re so unique, yet little Dylan is at the age where he copies EVERYTHING his big brother does. It’s adorable!!! I loved spending my morning with them.
“Let me show you how to do that…”
And then, “Ummm, I don’t think you’re right about that…”
Look at those feet!!! And those PERFECT curls!!!
Miss Tilly was christened in the dress that both her mother and her grandmother wore for their christenings. It’s so beautiful and special, just like little Til! She was so funny during the christening, throwing her arms up like she was feelin’ Jesus and reaching for the water like she wanted to dive in (though getting it poured on her head was another story). The sweet ceremony was followed by a lovely reception at the Country Club (there’s a picture of Tilly’s mama on the wall as a debutante!) where Tilly stayed the laughing, happy baby she nearly always is, even with skipping her normal nap. I love her!
Miss Virginia was around 6 weeks old for her session, so she was plump and already very expressive! She has the most beautiful lips and big, bright eyes. She can’t STAND to have a wet or dirty diaper, and wants to be changed immediately…though who can blame her? Isn’t she gorgeous? 🙂
LOVED. THIS. MINI-SESSION. Loved it!!! This family’s favorite sno-ball stand is Hansen’s on Tchoupitoulas. And I gotta say, the cardamom-vanilla flavor is AMAZING. Baby Noam was the star, which was perfectly appropriate since he is a Sno-Ball Vacuum. Seriously, he finished his and then cleaned up the last melted inch left in everyone else’s cups. I love his wild-man summer hair and how seriously he went after his sno-ball (wouldn’t let anyone else touch his cup or even his body while he ate! He shrugged off his sister’s arm around his shoulder!). His older brother Leo is really into long sleeves and pants in this triple-digit weather, and always dresses himself in those clothes like he doesn’t even feel the heat. He wore a tie today because Ingrid had a bow on her shirt, and he felt he needed some lagniappe for his outfit, too. (God, I love kids!!!) Miss Ingrid has a space left where she’s lost bottom teeth that PERFECTLY fits a straw. How convenient is that?! I love these kiddos, and these pictures. Call me at 601.297.1793 to schedule your kids’ mini-session during the month of July today!!!
Green tongue from a mint sno-ball!!!
Full belly = happy baby!!!
Pretty little Hannah is several weeks old, and her big brother Max is a big helper (for short spurts of time, of course, since he’s 4)! Miss Hannah ate throughout her session, and quite a lot for only a month old! Max showed me his trains and we chatted about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles during Hannah’s breaks. I love these images, and I especially love the shot of brother and sister’s feet together at the end. Max did that himself — we didn’t have to ask him to, which makes it all the more special!
Miss Isabella is one year old, and I got to photograph her gorgeous birthday party with an Alice in Wonderland theme. Everywhere I looked there was a beautiful arrangement and delicious (looking and tasting!) treats, with sweet touches everywhere, including pictures and canvas from her last year! The guest book was an actual copy of Alice and Wonderland, and everyone wrote sweet notes to the birthday girl on the pages. Her big gift was a playhouse (that her daddy got in to show her how it’s done!), and she she wanted to carry a balloon everywhere with her. It took Izzy a little while to get into the cake, but once she did, it was everywhere. She shared well with Daddy, and kiiind of well with Mama (Daddy got 3 bites for every one she gave to Mama!), and then she tore into some presents. I love her fat cheeks, sweet smile, and attitude!!! Happy Birthday, little Isabella!!!
Izzy just chillin’…
