isabella’s 1st birthday party in one-derland…{New Orleans party photographer}

Miss Isabella is one year old, and I got to photograph her gorgeous birthday party with an Alice in Wonderland theme.  Everywhere I looked there was a beautiful arrangement and delicious (looking and tasting!) treats, with sweet touches everywhere, including pictures and canvas from her last year!  The guest book was an actual copy of Alice and Wonderland, and everyone wrote sweet notes to the birthday girl on the pages.  Her big gift was a playhouse (that her daddy got in to show her how it’s done!), and she she wanted to carry a balloon everywhere with her.  It took Izzy a little while to get into the cake, but once she did, it was everywhere.  She shared well with Daddy, and kiiind of well with Mama (Daddy got 3 bites for every one she gave to Mama!), and then she tore into some presents.  I love her fat cheeks, sweet smile, and attitude!!!  Happy Birthday, little Isabella!!!

kai’s monkey birthday bash…{New Orleans party photographer}

Mr. Kai, one of my favorite kiddos of all time, is TWO!  I met him not long ago when I tagged along to the Zoo with him and his Nona on their regular Wednesday visit.  After that morning with him, I was smitten!  And lucky for me I got to photograph his birthday party this past Sunday morning at his beautiful home. Mom Natasha is an interior designer, and the color scheme she has chosen for her home just makes me feel relaxed every time I walk inside.  The backyard is absolute heaven, I swear I would blissfully live back there.  Not in the summertime, you say?  Well, there are misters around the entire yard, not to mention a small, calming oasis (a pool, but it looks like an oasis!), so even in the steamy New Orleans summer it’s possible to stay cool.  The party was a huge hit with both grown-ups and kiddos, with plenty of fun for both.  The kids (and most of the adults!) got their faces painted, watched a live Magic Show, and then an ICE CREAM TRUCK pulled up to give them whatever their little hearts desired!  Really, those kids thought they’d died and gone to heaven.  Kai did beautifully, no melt-downs at all throughout each new activity, even though he was absolutely exhausted by the time things were wrapping up.  I could tell how tired he was by how quietly he watched the Magic Show!  Happy Birthday, Little Monkey, I’m so glad I got to be there for your big day! 🙂

hartley’s 1st birthday party…{New Orleans party photographer}

Miss Hartley is ONE, and since we started her Baby’s First Year package at her 4 month session, we added her birthday party in as her 4th session —  and I’m so glad we did!  I knew Hartley’s mama Nikki would do an amazing job with the party and everything would be gorgeous, but I also knew it would be fun, too.  I don’t ever think a party is any fun unless the hosts/hostesses are laid back and having a good time themselves rather than stressing over every little thing…and Nikki can plan everything down to the tiniest detail and still make it look easy and fun.  There was something for everyone at Hartley’s Birthday Brunch: fruit and mini-pancakes for the babies, a cereal bar for the kiddos, and snacks and drinks for the grown-ups.  The Birthday Bebe herself slept through the first bit, but it was her party, and she could nap if she wanted to!  Nikki, I know you must have worked really hard to pull everything together so flawlessly, and it totally paid off.  I had a great time visiting with you guys and catching up with college friends (Nikki and I are sorority sisters from Southern Miss), and most of all, I have loved watching your gorgeous baby girl grow.  The first birthday is always bittersweet, I know, so I hope these photographs will help you remember and cherish all the details…before we know it, we’ll be doing her 18 month session!
